Youth Group Frequently Asked Questions

 

Q - What is this Megazone thing all about anyway?

Q - Does my type of group qualify for these options?

A - If you can gather the minimum number of 12 people to play, you qualify for the youth group options regardless of the background of the club.

 

Q - What if my group contains less than 12 people?

A - We can still offer you the Three Games for the Price of Two offer. See the Prices page.

 

Q - We are a very large group. Can we still hold an event here?

A - Yes absolutely. Even though our arena can only hold 30 players at a time, we can split your group into several teams and rotate players around (one group playing whilst the others take a break). We have done this with groups as large as 200. Please call us to discuss.

 

Q - Are players supervised whilst playing?

A - Yes, we have dedicated games marshals walking around inside the arena.

 

Q - What safety rules are put in place?

A - See the rules page. Our game marshals enforce these and can remove unruly players from the game.

 

Q - Can the lasers be harmful?

A - Not at all. The lasers we use in our equipment are very low powered. They have been in use throughout the world for many years and are perfectly safe, even for young children.

 

Q - Can I come and look round before I book?

A - Certainly. Turn up any time during the opening hours and we will give you a guided tour of the briefing room, pack room, playing arena and eating area. Plus this is an ideal opportunity for us to answer any questions you may have.

 

Q - How do I pay the deposit?

A - The quickest and easiest method is to use a credit or debit card when you make your booking. This can be done over the phone or in person. Alternatively you may call in to the centre and pay by cash or cheque.

 

Q - After making a booking, can I change the number of players?

A - Yes. If you are unsure of how many people will be coming at first, the best idea is to give us a maximum number when booking, and to contact us when you have a definite amount. This is to ensure that there is a place reserved for every possible guest. We will give you a confirmation call a few days beforehand to check the final number.

 

Q - Do you have a car park?

A - Yes, it is FREE and has over 80 spaces.

 

Q - What do I do on the day?

A - You have three options - Firstly, why not join in and get revenge on the kids! You can either choose to have food too, or if you just want to join in the games, we offer special rates for leaders - see the Youth Clubs page. Secondly, you are welcome to walk round in the arena whilst games are running to spectate or take photos. Or finally, sit back and relax in our lounge area. We have a bar serving hot and cold drinks plus snacks. Don't worry about missing the footy either, as we have a BIG screen TV!

 

Q - What if one of the guests has a food allergy / special dietary requirement?

A - Let us know when you make the booking and we may be able to make special arrangements. All food served is nut free.

 

Q - How do we get there?

A - We are situated in Derby City Centre opposite the Radio Derby building. For full directions, click the see the Find Us page.

 

Q - How long does the event last?

A - From arrival to departure, elimination events generally last one hour and thirty minutes, and crossfire events generally last two hours.

 

Q - What are the age limits?

A - We generally say age seven and upwards. There is no upper age limit.
