"Plunged into the semi darkness of the playing arena you sense movement. Lights flash, smoke swirls. The music pounds. Suddenly a shadow comes to life. A bright green laser beam cuts through the darkness and barely misses you. Your heart pounds as you race for cover with your laser gun and you return fire, deactivating the enemy sniper. It’s as if you’ve entered a different dimension, where enemies lurk in the dark recesses equipped with state of the art laser hardware. You must depend on your reflexes to survive."
Your adventure at Megazone starts in the briefing room, where you will be given a short kit up talk on how to play the game and how to use your equipment correctly. It is here that your teams are decided and you choose your colours. Afterwards you will enter the airlock, where you will put on your packs and discuss your final tactics with your team mates. Once prepared, you will enter the arena.
In a nutshell, the idea of Megazone is to work together with your team mates to score more points than the opposing teams. This is done by shooting at the flashing targets on their packs with your laser gun. The more players you deactivate, the more points you get. Once enemies are deactivated, you have a few seconds to safely move in and take hold of a new area and try and prevent enemies from taking it away from you. As well as standard team games, there are many other types of games which are played at Zoneheads and Saturday Shoot Out, or at your request.
Once the game is over, you return to the pack room and check out how well you did on the scoreboard. The team scores are listed by rank, and for the more competitive amongst you, individual scores and ranks are also given. After your adventure is complete, don't forget to collect your scoresheets from reception before you leave.
New NEXUS GENERATION System!
At the end of October 2009, we installed a brand new state of the art system called Nexus - the LATEST and BEST laser game system in the world, with super bright GREEN LASERS! As well as being much more light weight, the new packs feature EIGHT true colour teams - Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Purple, Pink, Cyan and Orange! All packs change colour so between 2 and 8 teams can be used in a game. Let us know which colour you would like when you arrive.
